In november 1976, realizing the great potential the packaging age has brought upon the consumer workl, a group of filipino investors set up philcan industrial corporation (pic) to manufacture tin cans primarily for cooking oil. During the first five years, pic operated in a rented warehouse in quezon city. In 1981, the company relocated its quezon city plant site on its own 17,719 square meter property in pasig city. Within five years, philcan was supplying customers engaged in the manufacture of cooking oil, paint, floor wax, bicuits, motor oil, sardines, and ice cream. Production lines were assembled and dedicated to manufacture various can shapes & sizes. By 1986 philcan was already an acknowledge leader in the tin can packaging industry in the philippines. In line with its mission to be the top quality packaging supplier and heeding its thrust to be customer-oriented, philcan diversified to accomodate the oil filling requirements of its customer thru its affiliate. Philcan products packaging corporation. In 1992 philcan installed its own metal lithography facilities, philcans fully integrated manufacturing process from coil cutting, printing, lacquering, forming to seaming and filling was therefore achieved. In april 20,2005 philcan was awarded its ISO certificate of registration by moody''s international certification (mayasia) sdn. Bhd. As ISO certified manufacturer of tin can (general and sanitary), metal lithography, cutting & filling services. As of march 3,2006, philcan president, mr. Henry a. Tanedo continues to lead in the progressive development of the tin can industry in the philippines by serving the tin can manufacturing association of the philippines tcmapi as president for another two years to complete a ten (10) years tenure.
